I wanted to comment on C. truncatus. It may not be a synonym for C. pistallaris which has slightly different spore size, is white to buff print and not as yellow. Some books consider them separate species. C. borealis is white spored, and may be a variation of C. truncatus, and shows lilac in fruiting body very often. sincerely Robert</description>
